The St. Jude Rock 'n' Roll Hope Show starring Stone Temple Pilots rocks for St. Jude

St. Jude Spotlight
A recent concert organized by a grandson of St. Jude founder Danny Thomas spread the word about the hospital among Los Angeles fans of rock 'n' roll. The St. Jude Rock ’n’ Roll Hope Show, created by musician Jason Thomas Gordon and Tom Carolan of Total Live, kicked off with a sold-out show July 1 at the House of Blues.

Design CaresSt. Jude Spotlight

Chanel Iman, Veronica Webb, Jill Nicolini, and Phillip Bloch hosted the Third Annual Design Cares Event presented by Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City on April 30, 2009, at The Armory. Christian Siriano made a special appearance and participated in the evening’s program. The event was graced by many famous faces.

Keith Urban pays surprise visit to hospital
The patients and staff of St. Jude received quite the unexpected treat on June 12, 2009, when Keith Urban stopped in to visit with the kids and tour the facility. Read more.

May 28, 2009, was an exciting day for the patients of St Jude when they had the opportunity to meet the stunning and talented actress, Sofia Vassilieva. Read more.

St. Jude SpotlightJennifer Aniston-narrated book to benefit St. Jude
Loukoumi, the fluffy, cuddly lamb, returns this fall with Loukoumi’s Gift, the fourth title in the award-winning series of illustrated books by Nick Katsoris for children ages 4-8. Actress Jennifer Aniston and her father, actor John Aniston, narrate the latest adventure of the fluffy, cuddly lamb Loukoumi, the sale of which will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. St. Jude SpotlightCelebrities compete in the Nautica South Beach Triathlon
It was a fun day in the sun, with a bike ride, swim and run, as well as fierce competition while enjoying the vibrancy of Miami, Florida, beaches. Read more.

Jo Dee Messina and friends go the extra mile
More than 800 runners and walkers participated in the inaugural Jo Dee Messina Music Row Road Race 5K benefiting St. Jude on Saturday, May 16, 2009, in Nashville, Tennessee. Mayor Karl Dean and Jo Dee Messina, who both ran in the 5K, kicked off the event, which raised nearly $100,000 for the hospital.

Shannen Doherty visits St. Jude

On June 11, 2009, actor Shannen Doherty made a special trip to Memphis to visit her friends at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She was greeted by a welcoming staff, including David L. McKee, chief operating officer, and Richard C. Shadyac Jr., ALSAC CEO. Patients and parents also stopped to greet her as she toured the hospital. This was Doherty's first visit to the hospital. She participated in the Design Cares event in April 2009 which raised money to support the lifesaving research and treatment performed at St. Jude.

Miranda and Math-A-Thon

Math-A-Thon, a volunteer-based fundraising program for St. Jude which includes a free math curriculum supplement for grades K-8, is proud to present a DVD starring Miranda Cosgrove. Miranda is the star of Nickelodeon's "iCarly," which is the winner of the 2009 Kids' Choice Awards best TV show. Miranda shares facts about St. Jude and she gives cool tips on Math-A-Thon. She also introduces you to some St. Jude patients.

St. Jude Patient of the MonthPatient of the Month
In the summer of 2008, Sean was found to suffer from a brain tumor. Having donated to the hospital, his parents knew St. Jude was the best place for Sean's treatment. Read more.
