 St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has been the charitable partner of the NBA Summer League, the premier off-season NBA event following the NBA Draft, since 2008. Every summer, NBA teams converge on Las Vegas to take their first look at their new draft picks and other young prospects on their Summer League teams. In the summer of 2009, 22 NBA teams competed against one another in front of over 40,000 fans, and all games were streamed live over the internet to millions of fans around the world. Thanks to the efforts of Summer League organizers Warren LeGarie and Albert Hall, the Summer League has donated resources, time and manpower to raise funds and awareness for St. Jude. |

In addition to the stars on the court, NBA coaches and executives have also committed their time and energy to champion the cause. The Summer League's Tip-Off Dinner serves as a perfect platform to learn about St. Jude from those who know the hospital best – patients and their families who serve annually as guest speakers. The dinner has been an emotional and poignant moment for all involved. | ||
